Meet Hadley

I’m Hadley, a hospice nurse, author, and mom to three children. You may have found me through my books, my videos, or my work to change Mississippi’s divorce laws. Wherever you came from, sharing stories is at the heart of what I do, because someone else’s experience can help us understand our own and sometimes give us the courage to do something about it.

My patients have taught me more about living than I ever expected to learn while caring for people at the end of life. Their stories, alongside my own, became The In-Between and my new book, How to Let Go. They also inspired Legacy Dinners through my nonprofit, Hadley House, where we’re working to give people the chance to hear what they mean to their loved ones while they’re still here.

My own life has given me reasons to speak up, too. After leaving an abusive marriage, I spent years fighting to become legally divorced. In 2024, I met my now husband, Brett, whose own experience with Mississippi’s laws helped shape our shared determination to change them. We’re willing to talk openly about what we’ve lived through if it can help someone else or make the path easier for the people who come after us.

I don’t have everything figured out. But I’ve learned enough, from my patients and my own experience, to know that the things we share can matter far beyond us. This is where you’ll find what I’m writing, what I’m building, and how you can be part of it.

Divorce Reform

After spending years fighting to leave my marriage legally, I’m working to change Mississippi’s divorce laws so others can leave without their spouse’s agreement. Find the petition, court records, and ways to get involved.

Legacy Dinners

Through Hadley House, we’re partnering with restaurants and chefs to bring people and their loved ones together for a meal, shared memories, and the chance to say what too often goes unsaid. Dinners organized by our nonprofit are fully covered for patients and families.
